'Atelier'- Originally derived from the Latin word and adopted by the French

A workshop or studio, especially one used by an artist or designer.

To us a studio doesn’t have to be a static room with four walls. 

It’s less about physical boundaries and more about a sense of focus and possibility that emerges when you step into the act of making.

We wanted our brand Atelier Whimsy to reflect a feeling and state of mind. 

We all visit creativity in our own way. On a totally unique and individual basis! The spark you feel and the visions that fill your mind, from initial idea to finished masterpiece can capture us all differently, but WHERE we go to fulfil that urge can be aesthetically organised or beautifully chaotic.

Creativity is deeply connected to mental health and wellbeing.

In a world that’s moving faster than ever we wanted to share with you what we value about our own ‘studio moments’ and what they might look like. 

When you think of your studio as a mental space rather than a physical one, it reinforces the idea that wellbeing doesn’t depend on perfect conditions —it grows from within. The creative process itself becomes a form of mindfulness: a way to slow down, reconnect, and cultivate joy and curiosity in everyday life.

A studio becomes wherever you allow yourself to experiment, reflect, explore and create.

From a doodle on an old envelope while dinner is cooking to an oil painted landscape on canvas. A perfect bench in a quiet setting, when all you can hear is the sound of a sharp pencil scratching in your sketchbook. A snap of a camera capturing your favourite flower or even selecting your favourite playlist to bake yourself a delicious treat. In all of these scenarios, in that moment your are in YOUR studio, and that’s beautifully whimsical! 

Our workshop locations change. This is important to us, as we want to be as accessible to you as we can. We want to promote taking time to visit your own ‘studios’ and our workshops will help build the confidence to do that. 

Explore a brand new craft, build on existing skills and take some time to re-set. 

Wherever we are we offer a calm, warm and light hearted experience with friendly faces and studios to share.
